Guideline 4.3: Reply First or Resubmit a New Build?

§ 01What this rejection usually means

The operational question after 4.3 is not “how do I write a nicer email?” It is whether the current archive should ever be reviewed again.

§ 02What Apple’s wording tells you

App Review

We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept with apps submitted to the App Store.

If the wording is generic, you still pick a lane: reply (same binary, better facts), metadata (same binary, new listing), new build (shared shell removed), or appeal (facts already sent).

§ 03Common causes

Teams resubmit unchanged because the queue feels like progress.
Teams rebuild immediately and lose the chance to ask what was matched.

§ 04How to diagnose your case

If you found leftover IDs or template UI — new build.
If only the listing is generic — metadata, then reply.
If the audit is clean — reply, wait, then consider appeal.
If this is the third identical reject — stop resubmitting the same archive.

Do not resubmit unchanged.
